Being the foundation of all other dance styles, ballet is highly recommended for all students.
We work with our students to improve their posture, coordination, learning ability, self discipline, dance etiquette, and self confidence.
We teach these skills through barre work, center work, and across the floor progressions.
Ballet technique is also great in enhancing students athletic abilities in various sports.
Preceding formal ballet training, Ballet I is specifically designed for young children.
Through the medium of fun and games, the students are introduced to the ballet barre and discover the foundations of proper ballet technique without realizing it.
Ballet II is a continuation of Ballet I, with emphasis on proper ballet technique.
Modern dance incorporates a variety of techniques that focus on correct alignment, fall and recovery, centering, and proper articulation of the joints, which are developed through warm-up exercises, center floor work and larger locomotor combinations. Elements of movement improvisation and basic structures of composition are introduced. Students begin to explore the process of movement abstraction and the development of performance skills as they continue to listen to and learn from their own body under the guidance of the instructor.
