Mrs. Kay Kay was born in Hartlepool England where she lived until the age of 13. Her family moved to America (Stillwater, Oklahoma) to complete a short 3 year job her father had taken. In England she had enjoyed dancing. Whether it was disco dancing lessons or just dancing around the house, she was happy. Upon moving to the states, she enjoyed 3 years of high school cheerleading on her high school pom squad. During that time she was an NCA All American. Throughout the summers she would enjoy holding private camps and clinics for local school cheerleading programs, choreographing routines and attending summer camps. From 1992-1996 Kay enjoyed cheering for Oklahoma State University where she danced for wrestling, football and basketball with the highlight of her career there cheering for the Final Four basketball game in Seattle. Kay majored in Interior Design at OSU and left Stillwater for Kansas City in 1997 with a design position downtown Kansas City. From 1997-2000 she cheered professionally at Arrowhead stadium for the MLS Wizards. Here she enjoyed both being on the dance team as well as aiding in choreography and in the final year, aiding in coaching and directing the team. During that time she also coached Level 4 Gymnastics – The Mighty Mites! She went on to coach for the Young Champions of America organization for the next several years. In 2005 Kay, while working at Hallmark Cards as a Designer, created The Kansas City Rebels. Kay founded The Kansas City Rebels brand and from 2006 until 2010, enjoyed coaching all 5 cheer teams and 2 dance teams. She directed the competitive cheer and dance programs as well as the recreational programs at Positivity Gym. Kay is USASF, NCSSE, CPR and first aid certified and has enjoyed such accolades as Best Choreography, Judges Choice, Grand Champion Spirit Award, 40 First Place Awards, 4 National Championships and 3 Grand Championships and most recently named AMP’s hardest working coach of the year 2010.
